Cookie season is the best season of all. Baking Christmas cookies is one of my favorite holiday traditions and my family and friends appreciate the abundance of cookies and sweet treats. From classic buttery shortbread cookies to linzer cookies, to cranberry and orange shortbread you'll find a cookie perfect for a big cookie platter, a cookie exchange with friends, or as part of a holiday cookie basket.

Delicious Christmas Cookies
Classic Shortbread Cookies
These classic shortbread cookies are based on a simple ratio of flour, butter, and sugar. They're buttery and tender the way a shortbread cookie should be with a slightly crumbly texture.
Chocolate Rugelach
Rugelach is a traditional Jewish cookie during the holidays. This delicious chocolate version starts with a traditional cream cheese dough, but I've added a twist with a chocolate and brown sugar filling.
Chocolate Orange Shortbread Cookies
Chocolate and orange are a classic combination, so I've combined them in this citrusy melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookie
Pecan Caramel Chocolate Bars
These bars are a family favorite. They're the perfect combination of pecans, chocolate, and homemade caramel sauce with an oatmeal cookie base. The first bite will have you wanting more.
Cranberry and Pistachio Shortbread Cookie
Year after year these are one of the most popular cookies with family and on the blog. It's a delicious combination of sweet-tart cranberries and sweet nutty pistachios.
Chocolate Shortbread Sandwich Cookie
A double dose of chocolate is what you get with these buttery chocolate shortbread cookies and creamy dark chocolate ganache.
Cocoa Molasses Spice Cookies
Soft chewy cookies packed with cinnamon, ginger, molasses, and brown sugar make for an intensely flavorful holiday cookie. These cookies stay soft for days so they're perfect for making ahead or shipping to friends.
Linzer Cookies
Sweet buttery linzer cookies are a classic Christmas cookie with flaky shortbread and fruit jam. This version features orange and almond shortbread and tart cranberry curd.
Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies
Thumbprint cookies are typically filled with a fruit jam, but these buttery soft cookies are filled with a rich chocolate ganache for a double chocolate delight
Cranberry Orange Cookies
Cranberry orange shortbread cookies are bursting with flavor from fresh cranberries and fresh orange zest. These delicious buttery cookies are rolled, sliced, and baked.
Chocolate Cherry Hazelnut Cookies
These shortbread cookies feature a delectable combination of dried Montmorency cherries, sweet Oregon hazelnuts, and chocolate.
Lemon Shortbread Cookies
These lemon cookies are tart with plenty of lemon flavor. They're easy to make and ready in less than an hour.
